combo switch replacement failure Delica L300 Exceed 92

Hello,
It was around Easter of 2014 when I first noticed that my Dash lights were shorting out intermittently and then failing for good altogether. At the same time my rear taillights failed. With a little research I determined that the problem was with the Combo Switch (wipers/ lights/ turn signals lever). I bought a new Combo Switch (which as many of you know is not cheap) and replaced the switch.
After the replacement everything seemed to work just fine. Taillights and interior lights were working properly for the better part of the rest of the year. Just recently however on my way home from Tofino I heard a click and my interior lights and taillights were out again. Symptoms are the same as before however I have been told that these combo switches do not really ever burn out, especially not within one year.
I'm not really too excited about replacing the combo switch again and running into the same problem in the not too distant future. I haven't done anything yet so any thoughts or suggestions around this topic are welcome.
Thanks for any feedback,
Steve
