Anyone happen to know what these CDs are for and how to use them?

Much appreciate your feedback.

At first glance they struck me as programming for a Japanese GPS system. I'd load it into a folder on your laptop and see what happens, albeit it will probably be in Japanese. I'm thinking that going by the year of publication it's going to be something like "Garmin PC Mobile", turning the laptop into a GPS map. Having said that I see it has "Mitsubishi Multi Communication System" written across the disc... Maybe programming for the AV system?

Falco.

They're the boot/map disks for the factory navigation. Away back in '96, you couldn't fit all of Japan on one CD, so you'd have to switch it when you got to a certain are.

factory nav? is it built into the dash or bolted on top? I'd like to see more pictures please! :)

looks like it could be a cool mod; to swap the Japanese version out for a tablet of some kind. how big is the screen?

I have this multi-communication system in my deli ('99)...there's some sort of nav system but it also controls all the vents and AC on the touch screen. I have this box installed at the rear right of the van that's the "player" or whatever for the multi-communication CD. I thought I could just remove it since I don't need it (and I'm camperizing so wanted the space)...when I removed the disc the vent control was fine, but as soon as I disconnected the wires to the box it wouldn't bring up the vent control screen anymore. Was just dead. So I've kept it in.

I'd love to learn more about this...I don't really like that my only control from the front for the vents is on this system. What if something goes wrong with it? Did you get anymore information about it?
