Anybody know how big of tire can fit in these cages? Will a 235/75/15 fit?

Pretty sure that is what I have and it fits with room to spare.

Gumdrop has 235/75R15s, and they fit in the cage just fine.

I've got 235/75r15 and, although it fits, it gets kinda squished at the back end of the rack. So I finally got around to doing a slight mod -- demount the whole frame, and drill new holes for the pivot about 1/2" lower. Quick, simple, and it would have been free if I had done it myself (my garage charged me $50 to do it).
I'll try to take a photo today and post it, but since it is -15 out, it might not happen

Got photos. Sorry I don't have a before photo. The tire fits and doesn't interfere with the trailer hitch.
This is a shot of the bracket with the old hole and the new one pointed out with the red arrow. (Just ignore the blue extension cord)
And a closeup of the holes:
It is easiest to remove spare, demount whole carrier (2? bolts) and drill on drillpress. They re-used the pins, only needed 2 new cotter pin2.
I figure you could get a pretty big tire in there with this mod, and if you make a new bracket you could get a huge one in there.

Simple mod - Grreat.
Since we are cleaning house (big time in the new year) and getting rid of so much stuff I have a Deli spare tire cage that would likely end up in the metal recycling bin.
Anybody want it?
Will have tons of other stuff that I'm itching to get rid of; eg, anybody want a canoe real cheap?
