Loss of Overdrive on 1996 L400

Can someone identify the following part/sensor? The connection to this is quite loose and doesn't lock in place. Would this potentially have something to do with loss of OD on the L400? The following pictures shows the part with the connector removed (visible upper left) and the position of the sensor on the front of the engine relative to the intercooler. Thanks.

Oil pressure sensor.


The one further behind (Slightly smaller body) is the coolant temp sensor.

Neither affect the OD. There is a solenoid at the tranny that could be the culprit....that if you removed all doubt of the od switch on the shifter lever.
