Is it just me or does anyone else find the search menu to be useless as tits on a bull? I type in what I am looking even with the + in between the words and everything else but what I am looking for shows up and says what it searched for location and under ignored it says ecu. i enter ecu+location, I get IP location, radiator leak location etc etc. Maybe its because I am not so tech savy but when I am told to enter what I am looking for and I enter exactly what I am looking for and get search results for everything but what I am looking for, I find that very frustrating. any help, comments, laughter ?

Dude... Glad you brought this up. As you know we recently went through an upgrade that didn't jive with the format of PPH BB3 that we have been using so we had to retreat to a basic model until we rebuild the site. This, of course, we are taking great care as one, when we do this it will take the site off line for a period and as we want to keep the site on line, we want to make this procedure as short as possible. Secondly, we don't want to make a mistake and delete the content of the site as take my word ~ it's taken a long time to get it to where we are, with imperfections and all. When we retreated to the base format we lost one search engine and degraded the other. What I would recommend for the interim is go to Google/ type in "+site:delica.ca"(all one word); then a space; then whatever it is you are looking for. As an example: You wish to find a thread on fuel additives and you are not satisfied with the on site search engine results; you go to Google and type in "+site:delica.ca diesel fuel additives".
In due time we will rebuild the site and enhance it with Delicatron, a creature built to do EVERYTHING... BruHaHaHa.... or not ~ we'll see how she goes. Thank-you for understanding
.
Falco.

hahahahaha no worries Falco. I totally get what you say its taken a long time to build it where it is today, i do go and root through this site even the first entries dated back to 2007. That's how i discovered the stereo diagram breaking down the wiring codes for stereo memory, i use the bajeesus out of this site for all the free information and ideas I can get, so THANK YOU for all your hard work that you plus a few others i bet have done for this site and continue to do so!!!!!

Hiya John,
It's one more procedure that annoys me and the simple VAT button is sorely missed but in the top left is a button that reads "Quick links"; click on that and a menu drops down and reads: - Your posts
New posts
Unread posts
Unanswered posts
Active topics
Search
Members
The team
Delica Trader
Delica Photos
Decal Orders
Cheers!
Falco.

Hi
what I do is open the new posts link, then bookmark it so it is the future entry point to the forum when I open it.
This works with every forum as soon as you stay logged in (checkmark at the login page to automatically log in at each visit).
You can do the same thing with google site search. Just do one search as described, then bookmark the results page. Next time you open that bookmark, you only replace the search terms for the current ones, but can re-use the site:
www.delica.ca bit.
