i've got a veggie conversion on my L300, and am trying to figure out a way to externally mount the spare tire for an upcomming road trip
does anyone know of a pre-fabricated option that would work, or a custom fabricator in the vancouver area who would be able to build me a front mount?
the front of my deli currently looks like this:

I have not posted for a while, but am scratching my head over the same problem, and for the same reason, converting to WVO. I will post pics as I get to done. At the moment, diesel is cheap enough down here in the states that I have not rushed the conversion...saving my grease for when fuel is $4+/gal. I guess.
I looked at putting my spare out front, as extra crash protection but the actual physics of it are not really...happy. Delis are pretty front heavy anyway, and I have seen vids where folks get them to do a stoppie by unloading the spare and hitting the brakes hard. Putting a 65 lb. spare even further in front of the center of gravity, and counter-balancing it with a variable weight in back(the WVO tank) looked like a recipe for excitement! In the end, I will probably find some swinging spare tire carrier off of craigs and hammer and weld it into shape, then swedge it onto the rear bumper...
good luck!
