Hi Guys,

I have 1 1995 L400 that has an aftermarket single din Panasonic stereo in it. I was wondering if I could replace it with a double din with a DVD player and navigation system. I haven't seen and Delicas with a double din stereo and wondered if there was a reason why? Let me know.

Not sure why, there shouldn't be any issues.
I had a double-din Pioneer AVIC 6100NEXwith GPS Navigation, satellite radio, etc. installed in my L400 and it is a great upgrade!
With the new deck, the speakers show their age, so I decided to replace them shortly afterwards as well.

Anyone else have a double-din?

I have a double din out of an mid-2000's Nissan Pathfinder in my L400. ( Looks stock, sounds great! )

Did the same as Fuji and changed the speakers to something with correct ohm ratings....the old paper cone stuff was UV damaged and dry-cracked.

Thanks guys, that is cool. I am totally looking for a Nissan stereo now. Quick question for you about the speakers. I would like to change those too. I was wondering to take them out, does the speaker grill just pop off or do you need to remove the whole door panel to get the speaker out?

Thanks,

Rod

The factory door grills pop off but you likely also have a pair of 4" in the dash (below the glove box and the other is above the fuse box cover). There is a pair of narrow 6x9 in the back side panels and you have to remove lots of stuff to get at those units. Big job. Eagle Talons use the same speaker type and you might find a good used set for your Delica! (I did for mine)

When you grab the nissan Stereo grab as much of the 2 factory harnesses length as you can and get all of the plug ends too.....you might get lucky and find a nissan with a CD shuttle (factory). Avg cost of used stereo at U-Pick is about $30.00.

Nissan Stereo's need an antenae adaptor cuz they use a dual pin type and mitsu uses a single pin. Ebay 7.00

The Nissan decks are built by Infinity and have good power. There is a Double Din plate that Mitsubishi uses. Common in the Eagle Talon and Mitsubishi Eclipse. Which also have a factory double din deck.

I put in a double din from eBay. It runs android as the os. Not sure I'd go back to a regular radio. Has all your basic functions and then will run any android app on the market. You can put a 3g usb dongle as well.

I use an app called "my car" to track all of my fuel and service records. Very convenient and gets backed up to my Google Drive. Not to mention the ability to play games if your ever stuck waiting somewhere for a long period of time. A weird xbox controller works great..

The GPS software that's included hasn't let me down yet and is pretty comprehensive and up database.

Android is also pretty decent at sorting through music.

Hi kurtiswilk. I did this as well but am having trouble with connecting. From the old radio there is a wire beside the antenna that I don't know what to do with.

Which radio did you end up getting?
I did the easy bit and ordered a Mitsubishi radio adapter. the wire I'm going to guess is the wire for an external amp. Whats the color of the wire?

Hi guys. The extra wire was a second antenna. No needed. I'm embarrassed to admit what my problem was. Turns out my batteries were so low on voltage the new radio (pumpkin) wouldn't boot. Two new batteries later (thank goodness for employee discount) and it's all good.
