Help - strange behaviour with heater on

Hi everyone,

I was coming down from Apex tonight and noticed a strange thing happening when the heater was on. It was dark, so the lights were on. With the heater on full-blast every-so-often I could hear a single click sound coming from the dash area and at the same time the lights would flicker very briefly. It might have been my imagination but I swear the vehicle would also occasionally shudder or slow at the same time.

When I turned the heater off this behaviour stopped entirely - hopefully a small clue to this mystery.

Any thoughts? Whether or not this happens with the lights 'off' I don't know - will try tomorrow.

Thanks so much for any help,
-- Joel

At first I thought, "I didn't turn the AC on. Why would I? It's winter." But I just checked, and, lo-and-behold, the AC was on. There's only one person devious enough ...

Noah. My 3 year-old son. Arrr.

Thanks!

Ha, you think that is funny. I was at my shop one day with the deli and my kids (3 and 4) were playing in the truck. My boss walked by and was talking to one of the techs right beside my truck as I was about to leave. Keep in mind my exhaust exits to the side. I start the truck up and the rpm shoots up. I kill it right away because I know they have pulled the hand throttle and locked it on. I turn back to see my boss covered in a cloud of soot and an unhappy look. Sure am glad I have a new job somewhere else.
