I found a few broken wires on my ’93. The truck was working fine and I have since repaired the one in the second photo by the battery, but the one in the first photo from under the truck -I cant find where the broken wire comes from. Does anyone have any idea what either switch is and where the other end of the broken wire would be from the one under the truck?

The two switches on the transfer case are for the 4WD light on the dashboard. From memory, each switch has two wires going to it- looks like one of them has broken off. The broken off stub is probably under all that dirt. I'll try and remember to have a look at mine to confirm tomorrow.

In the second photo I notice a loose black wire coming off the plunger switch on the injection pump- that's the wire that switches your aircon off when you're at full throttle. It should go to the wiring loom nearby. If it's not connected then your aircon won't work- if your aircon *is* working, then I suspect someone has found the wire on the wiring loom and connected it to earth, so the aircon never thinks you're at full throttle.

There is not much of a stub under that dirt....at least not enough to solder to.
Will add this to my list of parts to find.

You can try disconnecting the broken switch and connecting the wiring loom directly to the switch which has both wires, that should be enough to get your 4WD light working again.

I'm not sure why there are two switches, there must be some kind of failure mode that would allow the 4WD light to be on but 4WD not actually engaged. Pretty sure I'd notice if that happened, though.
