Mitsubishi Delica L400 production commenced in 1994 -- After much anticipation, the L400 arrived on Canadian Soil in 2009!

Help! Leaking black oily substance (possibly oil)!!

Post by pj_jazzy_janz »

So, I was poking around under the Delica today and I noticed a fair amount of oil on a whole bunch of the underside!!

Here are some pics looking forward from behind the engine:

...and looking back from the front with the skid plates taken off:

I'm not particularly mechanically-inclined; the Delica is my headfirst dive into it. Any ideas on where should I start looking for leaks? Is there a "most likely candidate"?

Check the valve cover gasket. Common problem.

My money is on the half moon seal at the back the valve cover. Probably a lack of sealant.

and yeah common leak.....very messy but easy to fix with basic hand tools.
Yeah I joined the Dark Side because the medical plan is top shelf!
