Hello good people.

Long time lurker here. I'm not sure if this is the wrong place to post this (if so I apologize). I'm not a delica owner (though I have wanted to be for many years), but I have a question for you all.

A friend of mine is wanting to go to sloquet hot springs for her birthday on the weekend of the 21st. The only issue is that we all have city dweller vehicles, and 4x4 rentals from most places don't cover damage done on logging roads. Being that we are all somewhat responsible adults these days I'm wondering if you folks know of any place in the Vancouver area that rents delica's. A cursory google search didn't turn anything up, but maybe the owner doesn't like websites or something.

I appreciate any help.

You can get to Sloquet from the north (Pemberton/Mount Currie) without 4X4.
I've done it many times when I had my Plymouth Voyager.

The turn-off is right at the bottom of the Duffy Lake hill. Great big wide gravel turn-off to your right. Two bridges to choose from to cross the Lillooet River; one long, one short. The long one is the North one, an excellent photo opportunity but it is only a single lane bridge so don't tarry on the bridge.

From there the west side road is winding and can have fallen rocks on the road periodically. The south bridge is the short one, it's like thirty feet long. As there is a fair amount of logging up in them thar hills ~ the east side road is the most comfortable to drive at the beginning of the season after they have grated the road but after a few months of logging trucks the road deteriorates and the west side road becomes the more comfortable to drive. Get a map if you don't already have one. The Sloquet turn-off is more obscure. Where the red arrowhead is on the map in the picture below is Sloquet. As you can see it is a mountainous area. Beside the hotspring is the glacier fed Sloquet Creek, which is really that cold but refreshing! The breadcrumb trail is the last seven kilometres of road after the last turn (the obscure one).

When you get to Sloquet, show a little respect as the place is sacred. Pick up after yourselves. It is a beautiful place that is in danger of being developed.

My son and I have been there many times. Make sure your tyres are in good shape. If you've not gone there before and not familiar with the area ~ make a point of leaving early so you have the benefit of daylight when you get to the Lillooet Lake turn-off (at the bottom of the Duffy Lake hill). It's a couple of hours worth of dirt road from there to Sloquet.
