Insurance question

I just moved to Victoria from Alberta. The insurance broker states he needs to know the weight of the delica to insure it. Normally they use manufactures web site for those details but Our JDM's are not listed of course. Has anyone else encountered this issue? What was your solution?

Wikipedia suggests a weight range of 1690-2170kg, but I guess for insurance you might need something a little more official.

More specific details for individual models can be found on various websites but, again, maybe not official enough. (This one has a few different models, but appears not to have the 3.0 petrol engine listed, so who knows how reliable the other specifications are. http://www.auto-data.net/en/?f=showCar&car_id=15445)

Could you use a nearby weighbridge/truck scale? Caravaners and RV owners sometimes have to weigh their vehicles, so local RV forums might have some recommendations.

I found the 1970 KG weight on the Pacific Coast Auto site :-D .
http://auction.pacificcoastjdm.com/auct ... e=max&s&ld

Assuming a short wheelbase with the info you've given and lo roof from your pic this is the weight they list. They have a lengthy list of the specs/accessories on all years/models of delicas.

Try it yourself and copy the info for your agent. Wikipedia is just too vague :-( .
I weigh mine at gov. highway scales after they close but I'd never tell my insurance broker how much I carry when I camp
