Can I please get some opinions on a parts list of spares (belts, hoses, etc.) that you would recommend that a Delica owner never leave on a trip without? My old "keeping your VW alive" manual had a list of spares suggested for longer trips. Suggestions for the Delica would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If I would go in a remote areas, I would even think about a spare alternator + starter: all the belts, some cork sheet so I can tailored/cut a garket one on the fly, some seal maker tube, basic tools, electrical wire, spare Glow Plugs (even used ones), would learn how to start it the "bypass Switch way, flat tires plugs/patch repair kit, air pump (12V or Bycicle), etc.

Thanks very much for the reply. I'll have to look into the "bypass switch" starting. I have a decent tool kit built up fro the '68 VW bus, but will inquire with Coombs Country Auto on any specialty tools that might be handy.
