I have been fiddling with the dashpod for a few weeks trying to get the indoor/outdoor temperature working correctly with little success. It shows E most times and on rare occasions displays the temperature. I have dissembled the unit, cleaned with contact cleaner but no dice. Going after the sensors next to clean, etc. But its hard to find out the problem without understanding the wiring that plugs into the temperature gauge to see if the problem is with the unit or down the line somewhere.

Well finally found a section regarding the unit in the Workshop Manual recently put up by Growlerbearnz/Motorang; but it doesn't say anything about troubleshooting it. Can anyone shed some light on the wiring diagram?

btw. its pages 32-34 of 54_Chassis Electrical document and its called "Meter Unit" :) Detail info on the Units as well as the temp sensors.

You saw the sensor troubleshooting instructions on page (54-27-4), right?
Showing "E" only sometimes suggests a loose connection somewhere. I'd try removing the display circuit and resoldering all the connections on the circuit board.

I'd also try putting a 1.2k resistor in place of the temperature sensors, and see if it shows 20C. But that would require figuring out which wire goes to which sensor- and you're right, the wiring diagram is quite useless for that.

I did see that; was going to tackle the sensors next. Which maybe I should've done first! I will check the circuit board again for loose connections; thanks for the tip. Thought of ditching the display and putting one of those bluetooth sensors outside has crossed my mine but still hoping to make the original equipment work if possible.
