I'm wanting to find a snorkel for my l300 and was wondering if anyone else would be interested? Possible group buy like what has been done before?

Also can anyone tell me how much higher the top of the snorkel is abocve the top of the van? Curious if it will still fit in my garage with one, as it just fits now.

Hey guys,
I've been looking into a snorkel for my van for a few years now. There seems to be two types offered for the L300's. One is a black tubular type that sticks out a little higher than the roof line. The other one mounts nearly flush to the side of the van and stops just below the rain gutter. This one looks much more like a factory snorkel but is very expensive$$$. You can find these things on Australian and UK Delica Parts suppliers websites. I'd still like to purchase one if the price was reasonable. So far that's not been the case. Maybe if like 100 of us decide to make a group purchase

I think these guys have a variety but I don't see costs. I guess they need a quantity to provide a price.

Behold, a FTS 4x4 Snorkel. Fits great. This company is great. I have many products from them on mine.

I believe Rising Sun is bringing in a shipment of FTS ones in the Spring. I want to say he is charging $380 CA and taking deposits now.

I will also add that I have done business with FTS. I ordered a set of their skid plates. Great product and a definite upgrade from the basic "rock guards" that came with the vehicle.

The snorkel is about 4 inches above the roof. However if the clearances an issue you can merely leave the worm clamp loose enough to pull the snorkel intake off when you need to put the vehicle inside. Mine is loose enough so that I can spin the snorkel around when it rains in order to keep the water out .

I sent out a few emails to a few different companies but besides www.jimnybits.co.uk, they were looking for group buys and www.jimnybits.co.uk was overpriced. not to mention a 4-6 week delay coming into US. So count me in and let me know what I have to do. Ill also get in touch with risingsun and see if there is room on that list.

I'd shoot FTS an email and request a quote. They ship it via air so it comes right to your door. They're great to deal with. I recommend the riser spacers for the front and the rear revolver shackle kit!

I ordered the snorkel and skid plates from FTS with surface shipping (very slow). Total just under $500 US. With air shipping the quote was just under $700

Guys, other than fyording through 6 feet deep water, what is the use of a snorkel?
I have always wondered, because I have designed automotive controllers and gauges and I can tell you that the spec for a military vehicle that can be submerged and those for a Mitsubishi Delica are quite different. Submerging a Delica is just asking for trouble...

Well it's more or less what you're willing to destroy. With a snorkel you could enter much deeper water but at the expense of water potentially soaking the rear ac unit, alternator, water entering the differentials via the vent... it'll go deeper than without one for sure once or twice... but then you'll quickly find the weak points. Rule of thumb for me when I off road is to never go deeper than 3/4 of my Tire.
