Injector Rebuild

After searching dozens and dozens of threads I chose to post a couple of questions.

> Does anyone know of a solid injector rebuild thread or video?
> How about a better exploded view as the manuals are barely legible. For instance in the rebuild kit, where does the really small, copper washer go? (smaller in DIA than the crush and return washers)
> Best way to clean carbon from nozzles? Overnight soak in solvent? Brake clean? Little scrubby with a brass wire brush?

Thanks guys. I'll post what I can in the LandRam thread.

Okay, maybe this will help some people. I was getting some terrible power, high EGT's, gnarly white smoke, brutal cold starts, and everything just sucked. At one point I pulled an injector that looked a bit 'juicy' around the base. Unfortunately, I hadn't realized these bushings are single use and so I dropped it back in and went on my way. Well it wasn't long before things went bad again and then I noticed visible bubbling out the base of that dastardly injector. I decided to pull everything and replace the washers. While I'm in there I'll give the injectors a good cleaning and see what happens.

Support the injector body in a vice and using a 17mm socket, crack the body.

Here's what you'll see. It's important to disassemble in this orientation or you'll risk dropping the little spring seat on the ground.

To drop the pintle and seat, gently tap the injector body on a clean surface and the pintle and seat will drop out.

Turn the housing around an place it, nozzle down. Give the body a tap and the nozzle will slide up into the body and you can pop it out.

Voila. As you can see, my injectors were desperately in need of a re/re. I hope they go back in okay, lol...

This is what I would do ( if your old injectors actually have issues): open garbage bin, throw old injectors into that bin, go on the Internet and find yourself a good set of new injectors. I must admit that I have no experience with these exact injectors. I have worked with lots of other injectors over the years.
