hello everyone. Is it easy and reliable to bring in a Delica from Japan bought out of the japanese car auctions? I know I can save thousands of dollars compared to what I can buy locally but what are the drawbacks. My freind brought in a Delica through Japan Auto Direct,
http://www.japanautodirect.com , and he said there was no issues and he got a really nice car. Think i will use these guys but wanted to hear about the pros and cons of doing it yourself......

Buying a Delica used to be only available through the Japanese auctions but right now there's quite a lot of Delica available locally at very tempting price. Going by the auction might get you a good deal but you're buying without the test drive and once you account all the fees it will adds up pretty close to some of the local deals. As well, via auction you might have to wait up to 4 months to get it. I know, I'm still waiting for mine!
Look at
http://www.craigslist.org or
http://www.buysell.com for exemple. Between these two sites you should be able to see over 70 Delicas for sale. Some of them of private sales and the rest are from local dealers, Japanoid, Maximum Overdrive, 5 Stars on the Island... Lots to choose from and with price starting around $8000.
Good luck
