Anyone know the p/n or where to get the lamp so my delica sign lights up on my l300? Right now it says DEL and ICA is dark.

Ha im in the same boat, though mine only says ica. I havent been able to find anything though, and i've looked quite a bit. The connection to the light was completely corroded and just broke off, the other side is getting close. I might just ghetto rig some led's, led strip, or something.

I'm in the middle of disassembling the entire unit to just place some LED strips behind the lettering. Seemed easier than mickey mousing a new lamp assembly on the fiber optics.

Just did mine yesterday. It's actually fibre optics that light up the panel. The link Growlerbearnz provided works well and is how it was stock. But you can also buy small led lights on Amazon that work too. I'm terrible with the soldering gun, so this is what I ended up doing. The lights I purchased are fully enclosed and slide in perfectly into the original spots where the old lights used to be. Also, they're much brighter for that lasting bling effect. Plus you don't have to worry about changing the bulbs any time soon. Good luck with the repair

I did the same, but I bought mine in 2012 and the listing has well expired. Any chance you could share a link to the LEDs you used?philmeup1 wrote: But you can also buy small led lights on Amazon that work too.
Here's a how-to from another site showing the LED replacements: http://www.mdocuk.co.uk/forums/viewtopi ... 4825e77dcb

I think we may be looking for something like this:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2Pcs-Wh ... .60.XpTR9k
Does anyone know what diameter lamp the holder will accept? These lamps are 25mm (Diameter) x 21mm (Height)

Hey guys,
What I used is basically what you're looking at in the previous thread. I ordered mine from amazon.ca and I'm pretty sure it said 5W in the description. I'm assuming that's 5 Watts..?.. Anyway, basically you should get the highest power bulb you can get as I don't think its easy to get it very bright otherwise. Even with what I ordered, it's still quite subtle. One thing I didn't do was clean or remove the glass that was inside the socket. I may go back in there and do that to see if I can get it to shine a little brighter. It's just a small thing, but it does look pretty cool when its lit up.
I'll look for my receipt from amazon and post it if I manage to find it. But if you just go on the site, there are lots of options that will work for this little fix.
Cheers, Phil

So last night I went back inside the rear panel and removed the little glass pieces inside the sockets. I also cleaned up inside the sockets with a q-tip. The final result is quite significant. The LED bulbs fit much better inside the sockets and are firmly up against the fiber optic strands that illuminate the tailgate. It's now about as bright as the image seen it that post from the UK Delica site.

Dirt and corrosion blocking the fibre optics? You'd need to remove the entire alloy lamp holder from the plastic bit, and then you can clean the ends of the fibres. They're behind a mylar panel to protect them from the heat of the halogen light bulb, but if you've fitted an LED you can remove the mylar.

That piece your talking about is made of plastic so be careful not to break it but it should just slide out. Maybe spray some silicon or wd40 on it. mine was also terribly corroded and I had to drill out the screws. Before I got to finish that project I actually was able to swap tail gates with a friend who was turning his vehicle into insurance so I have the replacement bulbs and the old delica insert from my old tailgate but never finished the project. His vehicle was a chamonix and oddly enough it didn’t have the fiber optics running through the delica logo, and it also looks like it was never tampered with which would leave me to believe that chamonix models didn’t come with the the light up delica logo, can anyone verify that?

my 92 Chamonix has the fiber optics. I just replaced the bulbs with these:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/20x-Xenon-Whit ... 2749.l2649
used a tiny drum sander on a drill to enlarge the holes and these LED's slide right in! I could do the same repair in about 20-30 minutes now
