Passenger Side Window Keeps Coming Off Its Track

Hey there folks,

i'm having this recurring problem of the passenger side window coming off its track. it slips out from the front side and is on the outside of the track making it impossible to move the window. I've had the door card off about 6 times now fixing this recurring issue. I've used graphite in the channel. I've replaced a screw that had come out causing things to flex inside the door. And I've basically gone over everything to see if there's something I'm missing.

I'm now at the point where I'm keeping the door card off so its easier to fix each time it goes off its track. I'd prefer a better solution. Anyone have any thoughts on this? If so, I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks everyone, Phil

I've had that happen, it was caused by misaligned window channels. The window guide channels and regulator mechanism in the door should be adjustable, there are slotted holes on a couple of the bolts. If they've moved the glass can fall out of the track. Also check the bolts holding the regulator track to the bottom of the glass, if that's loose it can cause alignment issues.

(Toyota workshop manuals all have a section on aligning door glass, complete with measurements and specifications, so you can get it perfect without too much hassle. Mitsubishi- not so much.)

Thanks Growlerbearnz, I'll have a look for adjustments inside the door tomorrow. I'd really like to sort this out once and for all. I've gotten extremely efficient at taking the door apart, but I'd like end this chapter of my life already:)

Cheers, Phil
