Just like the title says, need to get my front CV's out but can't get the damn covers off, so stuck. Aleady ruined one oil filter wrench and no luch with the pipe wrench, what am I missing? It's not fun anymore...

Heat it up with a torch? Hopefully someone else knows if it's ok to do that without messing anything up.

If the oil filter wrench has failed, it's time for the cold chisel. Just to unscrew the covers, not to hack them to pieces.

I got them off today, if anyone is wondering, the magic trick was a Blow Torch (Heat) combined with a massive pipe wrench (leverage) and a pry bar (under a re-installed lug nut to prevent damaging the threads) to stop the already jacked up brake removed hub from spinning (counter leverage). Be careful not to overheat the cap, in theory you could melt the O-Ring seal that lies on the inside of the cap!
Man that sucks, and to top it all off the new lower ball joint I installed won't accept grease...
