generally not a good idea, they increase the force on the bolts that hold your wheels on, someone else on here reported earlier about the issues he ran in to when his broke while driving...

Also the extra force on the hubs is not good.

With 0 or negative offset wheels (just like the spacers intended for), you will have problems turning. Unless you have a big lift.....

The front end geometry would be thrown for a whack as well as putting an undue amount of load on the front wheel bearings. If you're prepared to do the labour to change them out and also deal with the hazards of sheared wheel lug studs, go for it.
A compromise may be to only do the rears with a spacer, leaving the fronts as they are.
Personally, I would only widen the stance by using off set rims.

I STONGLY STRONGLY URGE AGAINTS WHEEL SPACERS, earlier this year i had some on and because of them my wheel ripped off while driving. They are very unsafe, if you look threw my previouse posts you will see one labeled "scary tire accident" talks all about it

Hey Patty, I just read your scary tire accident..

HOLY FRAK!! :o I'm glad your dad was all right!!

Ok, my curiosity has been satisfied, no spacers for me! I think I'll just stick to getting all my switch lights working for now!
