Noob Delica owner here, pls go easy!

Recently bought a 2002 Delica (Petrol), currently parked at a friend’s place on Bowen Island. Van wouldn’t start, so her neighbour tried to boost it up but sadly hooked it up backwards. So, situation is now worse. Mechanic that’s on the island just told me that scenario A is that a fuse popped, or scenario B (worse) is that the PCM has been damaged. Either way he can’t figure it out because it’s all in Japanese, so he asked me to look online. I’m a total noob and didn’t even get to pick up the van yet, so any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Mechanic is saying step one is to find the fuse diagram. Fuse panel under the dash and the one under the hood. Can anyone pleeeease help?

Thank you!!

I would start with the fusees that are attached to the positive cable by the battery. There's one for the starter, alternator, glow plug. They are 30amp, 100amp,80amp. Disconnect the cable from the battery before you remove them. You need a small screw driver to release them.

Thank you for this. I'll pass this along to my mechanic. Do you happen to have a higher quality image of this diagram?

Just noticed you're Petrol, not sure you have a fuseable link. I did find this though.

https://fuse-box.info/mitsubishi/mitsub ... -relay/amp

I'll look to see if you have a fusible link or not.

What happens when you try to start it? Do you get power to anything (interior lights, headlights, etc)?

Thx for the link, that's useful.

Everything is lit up on the dash when trying to start, so.. maybe that's a good sign? Not sure. He's going to come later this evening to have a look and try to figure out the fuse. It's all been super difficult because the van isn't with me, so I'm getting all this info remotely via this mechanic.

Yes, thank you! It ended up being a blown fuse. All working now, with new battery and new fuse.
