miserable teenagers!!!

I was just getting ready to go the the Victoria meet on Saturday, and what do I see when I check my passenger mirror? Nothing! Some miserable wretch broke my mirror! At least I was able to find my blind spot mirror, but still! AARRG!

So I ended up going to Ralph's car audio to get an alarm system installed. Unfortunately most car stereo places don't have a 'deploy rotating knives' option with their car alarms, but maybe I can rig this up to the alarm instead:

does any one know how much it costs to get your vehicle lo-jacked? or maybe even if you can get a sticker that says your are?

you can make any sticker you want...

As for lo-jack, no idea, but there are ongoing monthly fees with any system like that...

As an amateur radio operator, I personally am using APRS (Automatic Position Reporting System) to broadcast my vehicle's position, I can check up on it from any internet connected computer... however you need an amateur radio license to use such a system.

GPS Vehicle tracking devices are available on EBAY for a couple of hundred bucks. They wont disable your vehicle, but they will track where it is and help you find it.
Just search for GPS vehicle tracking on Ebay.com

Lo Jack and GPS transponders are only effective if they take the van, not bust the mirror. I did buy an Ungo paging alarm, so next time something like this happens at home, I can run out, grab the punk and bring him home to his...genetic donors (parents imply that some manner of upbringing was involved)

Thanks for the suggestions though, :-)

GPS tracking isn't much of a solution on it's own, but it is a good supplement to a good alarm.

Mine came with a sticker that has been effective so far....
But I'm saving up for a Trunk Monkey.
