Crank no start condition on L400 2.8L

Hello everyone, I am new to delica Canada, but I am curious if anyone has had a similar experience to me.
Many months ago in November 2024 I was driving my 1998 Delica L400 2.8L and the engine suddenly stalled and would not start again. It had been very reliable up until then.
Long story short I took it to a mechanic because I am not too familiar with these engines, and they told me that the fuel shut off solenoid was fine, but it wasn’t getting the signal from the ECU to open. Many months went by waiting to find an ECU to try in it. I finally found one and had it shipped to the shop, and unfortunately it didn’t help the situation. I’ve suggested they try seeing if something in the ignition switch is not connected right, or if there’s a problem between the ECU and the solenoid, but the mechanic is lost as to what the problem is for about 10 months.
I’m curious if anyone has any suggestions as to what is causing the fuel solenoid to stay closed when attempting to start the engine.
Thanks in advance to anyone who may chime in,
Kelle
