Does any one have some 31 snow or mud tires they would want to get rid of for a good price?and does any one know if 31 inch tire fits the normal deli wheel or will i need to get new once too?
i found a buyer for my mud/snow tires for 500 bucks and i really want to upgrade too 31 it just looks so much cooler! i should be fine if i max the torstion bar right, no need for a lift quit yet?

I think that you will need a 2" lift minimum to clear 31"s.

Regret your stock Deli wheel will not work with 31" tire. You will need wider rim with the correct offset as well. Mid 1990's Toyota rims work. Heres is some information I've collected from posts mostly here and some info from others;

The largest tire that can fit the existing wheel arch in the L300 is a 31x10.5x15. The standard rims are not wide enough at 6” – so a 7” alternative is required (typically mid 1990’s Toyota are good alternatives).

To fit 31” tires;
1. Crank the front torsion bars to the max
2. Remove front steps / bars – the ones providing false protection to oil / AC radiators
3. Remove original mudflaps.
4. Trim / Cut a seam at the rear of the front wheel arch that is at the front end of the side sill. This can be accomplished with an angle grinder.
5. Trim the plastic at the bottom front and bottom rear of the front wheelarch.
6. Have alignment done by shop.

Nothing is required at the rear of the truck to fit 31” tires.

To fit 30” x 9.5 x 15 tires;
These tires are commonly available in the USA, and only more rarely here in Canada. They are slightly larger than a 235x70R15 and the largest tire possible on a delica without modification. The stock 6” wide rims will work with this tire, but will not provide as good mounting or handling as a 7” wide rim. Even with the 30" tires, a slight cranking / lift by the torsion bars in the front is recommended followed by a full front alignment.

As a further note - this is only information I have collected. I have not done this mod myself and run 235x75x15 on stock alumnium deli rims - just sharing what I have found from other sources.

Anyone else gone through this conversion to 31" who would like to comment?

How big are 235s? Like 27 inch? if i just max the tortion bar will i be ok on 31s for alittle bit, just normal highway driving?

as far as i have read baout it, is cranking the tortion bars like a half hour thing to do, shouldnd be super long right?

I know Falco will be there, he just got a set of brand new 235's installed, after much research . We run the 30's. And I know that so many other experts will be there, bring your tape measure, come kick their tires ??

As you can see from my previous posts - I've done alot of thinking about this also - but have yet to make a decision.
From all reports - the 235x75R15 are 29". The biggest you can go without mods is 30" (and recommended on 6.5 or 7" rims, but seems people are getting away with 6" stock rims for these tires too). Going to the 31" will certainly require torsion bar cranking and front fender well mods as well. This is the point at which I'm stalled. I've got some Toyota rims & dead 31" in the garage - so will be trying this out as "experiment" in the spring - but for now, will keep running the M+S 235x75/R15 which are actually doing great (just like the look of a bigger tire). If my experiment works well - I'll spend the cash and put good AT's on the Toy rims - otherwise put 30" on the toy rims and call it a day.

I guess what I was hoping for was to hear from someone who has done the move to 31" tires, but has not done a lift - has it worked, how well, is it as simple as earlier stated in my posted comments (as found from others on this site).

With or without feedback - I'm going to try this spring...this is my toy & hobby so what the hell!!!!!!!

Saw Adrock today on Cap Road in Nvan - looked awesome with the 31" - he was at a red light engrossed in something - he missed the "wave".

By the way - I believe Adrock is running a front torsion full crank up and 2" lift in the back courtesy Bruce AKA Mystery Machine's shackles - possibly same as Mitch who sold his rig - but if he's watching this - would love clarification!!!!

The Grey / Black Deli is Mitch's ex baby - no sure who has it now....the driving force behind my desire for 31" tires. Torsion bars cranked to virtually max up front - 2" lift in the back. Have also attached a photo of Adrocks machine too - I believe similar setup - cranking the bars and lift in the rear.

yeah i really want to do the switch over to 31s cozz i have the option to get some toy wheels, im just not sure if i have enough time to crank the tortion bar and get everyhting cut up right before the weekend is over.i would love some 2 inch shackles but does seem like nay one has em( if any one does have some PLEASE PM ME) right now im on 27 inch AT( i dont know what its actualy called havent looked at the writing for a bit)anywayds im just not sure if the chang eup to 31 will make thta much of a different. Would a lift like the one "garyo" offers look good on my size of tires?

what vehicle should i say the deli is to get a price quote on the costco website?i think im gonna go with the 30s just to be safe, uyou knwo cozz i dont have a lift

so i went to tire craft today , and with no hassle at all had them crank my tortions bars, do some trimming, and slam on some 31, WITH OUT ANY LIFT KIT!costs me 900 bones something for 5 31 spectar advantages. ill take some photos later and post em

31s are great, much better than the 30s, I have 2 inch shackles, but they only provide 1 inch of lift. You know, lifto ne end of something 2 feet, the middle is only up one foot, thats the basic physics of it.

Patty you comin down this weekend to go out to stave? Could be fun but i'll be running on empty as i work friday night until about 5am, (saturday morning) actually i think im going to bellingham saturday, so I guess it depends when i want to be down there.
