Chinese Delica (L-300) to be exported to Mexico. May help with spares, and misc. LHD bits.

The "refreshed look", should read "knocked up look". Scroll past the pregnant L-300, and there is a hippopotimized Delica. The Dodge version features "motor hemi(R)". Broom broom.

the scary part is that due to NAFTA, in a few years we'll be able to import that new Chinese L300 from mexico, but still not the ones from Japan... even though the Chinese ones are often considered to be a bit more suspect on the safety side of things...

Does it matter if they are crap or not? You're not actually prepared to be seen driving one are you? Think of your poor kid - drop him off to school in that thing and other kids will beat him up.

If I understand properly the ugly delicas have been assembled exclusively in mainland China for a while and now...
"The [hippo-] Delicas will be the first cars completely manufactured in Fujian [mainland China] to be exported" ...to Iran, Syria and a few other places, so there is a chance that George Bush may blow them up.

It says the Dodge L-300s are being made in Taiwan and are on the Dodge Mexico webiste as the Dodge 1000 (Spanish). $179,900 pesos seems to equal $16,500 CDN. (BTW: Dodge Caravans are made in Windsor Ontario).

Afterthought: The L-300 seems to be styled on circa 1966 Dodge A-100. Now, now with a new grill, Dodge is selling the L-300 as the Dodge 1000.

It's a LWB with a big fugly nose and grille. What a difference the slightest of modifications can make...

Shame about the face! Looks like the nose job when wrong.
