West Coast Alignment, price increase...

Just got my bus alignment done today at West Coast on Hastings and was expecting to pay $109 including the torsion bars but the bill came to $129 + tx so an extra $20.
Plus they seem to really like to change the outer tie rod ends and since it made sense to do it before the alignment I got them to do it as well expecting about $45 but they charged me $60. Maybe they just didn't like me?
Just thought I'd let you all know.
On the plus side, they did a great job. I just didn't expect that extra $35!

I went to fill up my Aristo today and I was only expecting to pay $1.24 and when I got to the pump it was $1.30 (premium) !!!
I think gas companies don`t like me !!!
The gas was good though and I still paid for it
Sorry , sarcasm kicking in

Hey you,
I thought you were too busy for sarcasm!

Nice to see that after all your work, all those phone calls and wife and kids you still have a sense of humour! Too bad it's at my expense...
Cheers!

I spoke with Mardy the other day and he recommended buying and taking a set of outer tie rod ends with you when you get an alignment done. Good advice in my opinion and cheap insurance/piece of mind to have them done regardless.
Still, in the big picture of vehicle repair bills, $130 is a drop in the bucket but I do understand the unexpected factor of an added 20-ish percent.... always best to ask for a quote up front even if you think you know how much you are going to pay...

if you write the specs down pretty much any shop will do it, i bet if you went to a chain of garages it would be cheeper.midas on the north shore as well as tire craft told me if i got the specs they would do it, thne tire craft called me back and said they got the specs. So theres getting to be options

I still think West Coast is well worth it. I watched the entire process, took almost an hour, often 2 guys (one underneath working, the other walking around with the tape measure and passing stuff). They knew exactly what to do and got right to it without walking around trying to figure where to start (trained by MardyDelica to do the Mardy Special). They didnt need my supervision but I am SUCH a control freak. Cheers, Christine.

I had my bars cranked already - and West Coast did just alignment today at I think $125 all in (bills in the deli) - but agree, they were fast, efficient and had me on the road in just about an hour. Visit them with confidence!
