Heading over from Alberta to UK in a few weeks to road trip through Europe. I purchased my first ever 1992 Deli in England with just pictures and talk over the phone. Hope all goes well with my first vehicle purchase over the net. However before I seal the deal I told the previous owner I would be thoroughly expecting it mechanically. I was hoping the pros on this (or UK) forum could give me a few ideas about what to look out for (ie. 4wd system, Auto transmission, cooling system, and engine overall). It is a classic JDM Delica Exceed that was brought over from Japan 2 years back with 63000 miles (100,000kms)

Also seeing that it is 1992 I hope to bring her home with me in the fall.....has anyone ever had a car shipped over from the UK that can give me any advice on that (shipping and customs)? Of course I will get over to the UK Delica forum as it might be more relative but I think a lot of people here have experience with the buy-the-car from overseas perspective. Can't wait to be an official Delica driver back in Canada one day as well!

Cheers,

Mark

Looks good from here.......

Hi, just a thought for shipping to vancouver usually in england (UK), only way is container, make sure they clean the van under the the car Inside & out as they have to go thru soil inspection when it arrived there. if dirty with soil & mud. you have to pay from 460 to 600. for a fee including the towing depends on which warehouse handle your container.
i think very high price for shiiiping container from U.K.
ask first before you do transaction. you might ended up more money.
just a thought:
anyway its a nice delica.
Cheers;
