Just became a member after buying my first, A 91 Delica Exceed Turbo D wagon. I'm a squamish resident who is damn glad there's a vehicle like this that exists and a site as good as this one to use. Thanks guys. Anybody have a slight groan sound coming from front passenger side underneath? Sounds like suspension on accelerating. Mechanic couldn't find anything as cause. Hmmm? More to come. And welcome to the forum. I have no idea about the grinding noise.... your mechanic has no idea about it? I guess thats gotta be good news then right

Anyhow, things can get tricky with these beloved vans, but as we all probably would agree... nothing can beat a Delica. So welcome aboard... I hope you can make the meet. And keep us posted about the front end, and if I come across anything that might help I will shoot it your way.

My Deli would grunt in the morning when I went over a dip in the road near my house. After I had driven a few blocks the grunt went away. Because I was under the car doing something else anyway, I lubed the the front end. It doesn't grunt any more. It couldn't be that simple could it? Also, what shape are your sway bar pushings in? I kinda think the lube thing was a fluke and that what I really need to do is swap in a few new bushings. Josh, Argo and BCDelica all seem to have some expertise and experience with this. Welcome aboard Jeremy and congarts on getting a Delica, you'll love it. Squamish is a good home for a Deli'.

Our 90' had plenty of moans and groans for the first few month, changing the sway arm bushings and having a shop redo my control arms silenced things up completely. That's a pretty vague description, but we took it into a good shop and had them redo many bushings and boots under my wife's ride. Mine only has had the sway arm bushings changed, and along with lifting the front torsion bars (sag) and a new battery (weak), seems to be common items that need attention in all the Delica's.

Make sure you have help to change those dual batteries setups, watching 2 buddies put 2 new batteries into the Delica if have for sale was quite a sight!

(seems kinda strange 'welcoming' someone to a club that I'm a million miles away from! :lol: )

The guys here are pretty cool! SO cool in fact that I am flying over to meet a load of them next month 8) (and abuse their hospitality! ) they are also doing a bl00dy fine job of convincing me to move over the the big CA!! :D :D :D

Anyway - you're gonna LOVE the motor.....I mean, you might think you love it now.....but just you wait 'til you find the true character and hidden depths of these amazing machines! :D :D If I do move over, mine is coming with me! Couldn't leave without it!

I agree with BCDelica and Delicanuck - get the ARB (anti-roll-bar) bushes seen to ASAP. These are made from self destruct material that does a pretty good job of pretending its rubber! (it's actually made from soft cheese, but don't mention that publicly! ) I think SurferBoy found a supplier that made them in polyeurethane which is a MUCH better solution and because it sounds a lot more technical than rubber, it therefore MUST be better! :lol:

Enjoy the motor and get some pictures loaded up so we can all see.... :D
