Neutral Safety Switch

Good day
To any manual Deli owners out there. I am looking for a part number (If possible) for a Neutral safety switch that will fit a Delica. Its the thing that keeps your engine from starting unless your clutch is depressed. Do you have one? Can you take a quick peek please?
Seem to be having difficulty getting this figured out. Lordco does not know where to start(over the phone at least) and the mechanics in my life are saying an hour's work or two hours work...Any other guesses from the peanut gallery?
Thanks in advance

I think you should ask a couple other inspectors preferably ones that have done Delis before, from the sounds of the other posts these didn't have them fitted from the factory and aren't required to have them retrofited, I think the guy doing your inspection is out to lunch on this issue.

As I already mentioned in a previous post my manual transmission van doesn't have one of those. But if I had to have one I would probably wire in a normally closed push button switch into the ignition and then position the switch below the clutch pedal. I am sure there are more electronic savy folks which have other ideas but I am pretty sure my fix could be done for $5 or less. Not that money is everything, of course, but I am kind of seeing this as a bit of a hoop to jump rather than a real safety concern. Please forgive my ignorance if I am wrong.

I think you may be bang on the right track except maybe on the price of the switch. I heard $20 for parts. The only thing is I have no idea what the push button type would be or mounting.
Also going to be checking with another inspection place also.
Thanks

Along the same lines does anyone know where to buy the safety switch for the automatic? More and more I have to wiggle the shifter or put it in neutral to start. Or it there a way to adjust or clean it that will fix it up?
Thanks

Being in Park is the safety switch. The other safety for an automatic is to depress the brake in order to shift into gear. It's the same thing but different - the 'clutch' on an automatic is the thumb-button on the side of the shift lever.

Mardy you were right again! This was a quick 30 minute fix and it's nice to not have to worry about the van not starting. Just popped it all apart, clean it up and put some new electrical grease on it and no problems.
Thanks again for great advice!
