Starting to think about it

I would like to do the coversion some time in future, but wonder if my situation would warrant it. I have a pretty short commute to and from work and that is 95% of my driving, takes me about 20 minutes. How much time does it take to switch over to WVO when it's warm enough and changing back to diesel before shutting it off? Do you think it would it be worth my time/money/effort? I really like the idea, but wonder that after I do it I will only be able to use it for say, half of my drive. Does that sound right?
Thanks for your input

go with a single tank system from
elsbett like I am (ordering it this week!) and you don't need to run diesel at the start and end of your driving, you just need to add 5% diesel if the temp is below 0.

also using it for half you drive cuts youre fuel bill in half, that is pretty damn good.

Definitely something to consider in when you put your system together, which you shouldn't effect your discussion for converting to WVO. We live in a small town where short trips are less then five minutes, but even with this use far less diesel then WVO. Of course the longer you drive great the ratio of WVO versus diesel/biodiesel use.
I good WVO system should allow you to switch shortly after starting, say 30 seconds, or even better switch over automatically when the temperetures are high enough. And during your regular commute the point at which you switch to purge to diesel will become easily recognized in short order.
Look forward to seeing the Elsbett Delica install pictures.

Okay, still sounds like it will be worth it. For some reason I thought it took around 5-10 minutes for VO to heat up enough to use it, must have been reading something else. Going to check out that Elsbet system, that seems like a good option. Looking forward to hearing about it once you get it. Thanks for your input
