I know, it's probably a dumb question, but I couldn't help wondering what is the purpose of the little convex mirror postioned over the left side of the grille?

It is there to help you see across the front of the vehicle (i.e. it gives the driver a better view of where the front is)

VERY useful for scaring your girlfriend it you're ever following her! You can get literally inches from the back of her vehicle without touching her car!  (she hates it when I do that! )

Regards,

Bruce.

P.S. Also handy for parking in tight spaces - but that is the practical, not fun, use for it!

Bruce,

It's actually not all that practical for parking in real tight spots here... because of the fact that we drive on the other side of the road, it is on the wrong side of the vehicle... at least I dont find I worry about that corner when parking mine (and I havent hit anyone yet :P )

So I guess that just leaves the impractical fun ways to use it!

I think you're missing how it is used... the mirror isn't showing you the corner of the vehicle, it's showing you the front bumper, as a result I find it very useful for tight spots because you can get within an inch of the car in front of you, I love that mirror and the parking mirror to the rear because you can see exactly where the bumpers are...

I like the mirros, but they sure don't stay clean very long. Once dirty they are useless. In the Cariboo, I think it is traditional to park by sense of feel any way :D

I can keep the front mirror useful... but I can't keep the back window clear enough to see the rear mirror... I think I really need a spoiler of some form back there to get some airflow down over that window...

It'll stay clean in summer. But I had the same trouble in the interior. Dirt and mist from the road just gets sucked right into the back window and mirror.

I like aligning those convex mirrors to give the front passenger a good view of traffic from the rear when they are exiting into traffic.

Also seems that those accustomed to LHD naturally check the side mirror before opening the door in busy traffic, therefore cutting down the risk of injury and Delica door loss.

Bruce,

I got a kick out of the delica mirror sticker... yeah you should produce those! We will have to do a stealth mission and place them on eveyone else's mirrors though.
