Going to BC to get some service / parts... Suggestions???

Hi

I've said this before, and I'm going to say it again... Having a Delica in Calgary is fun, but trying to get parts and good service is awful, so I'm planning to go on a trip "part mechanic / part family fun" (this is how I'm selling it to my wife) to BC during the May long weekend.

I've had my Deli for maybe 10 months now and I've replaced belts, etc but there are some things I know I need to do:

--> Injection Pump Timing (CVI Mardy Delica Special...)
--> Torsion Bars; check/adjust

As I don't know anything about cars, that's what I think I should do to the van... Thanks to some of the posts here in this great website.

And of course I need the parts that everybody wants:

--> Roof basket
--> Ladder

Plus I'd like to get a part to repair the A/C:

--> "Compressor"
--> "Receiver drier"

So, I'm wondering where's the best place to do this. I am planning to call CVI as I've heard a lot of good comments about them. But what about parts?

And what else should I do/check in the van? I know this is a very open question, but I'm hoping to get suggestions.

Also, what fun activities can I do with the family in Vancouver without a car? Just in case I need to leave the Deli in the mechanic? Can I take a bus from Richmond to Vancouver?

Thx...

Send a PM to MardyDelica, he'll hook you up for most if not all parts and service.

GLC Fuel Systems in Calgary checked my injection timing.

I have a Delica roof basket I can sell you, never used, still in the box, $200. I'm in Banff so it would be easy for you to pick up.

I have had great pleasure dealing with Japanoid (http://japanoid.com), Marty is a great guy to deal with, too. Many people I know deal primarily with Marty and they are happy, I tend to go to Japanoid because they know my ship and I know them. Funny, really.... I get the feeling that in Alberta you don't have enough options, yet in BC we are spreading the wealth, as it were. Either way I am sure that you will have a pleasant journey through the Rockies and enjoy your stay in BC. If you pass through Vernon you might check out Terra 2, they bring Delicas into BC, maybe they have a shop?

Falco.

Maximum Overdrive in Vancouver has them on their website maxoverdrive.ca. They included the basket when I bought the vehicle.
