need an extra fuel tank

Hello, I just signed on the other day but have been viewing the forum and gleaning info for a while. I have a stick and heard that the auto has a second tank. I would love to get the extra tank and add it to mine. Anyone heard of doing this?? I am in the process of changing the exhaust out the side for more space and have torn the front end apart to fab a wich mount that will still give ample clearance. I think I'll go with the hydraulic but run it off a separate motor and pump mounted underneith as I don't like to rob any of the little power available as well you can run the winch when the vehicle is off. any thoughts??

Hello Andrew, not Andy; where are you planning to put this extra tank?
Planned, and didn't, use this as a under vehicle water tank, residing in the area of the muffler - but in my Delica a WVO tank is in place of the spare creating more room length wise.

On one of the other threads there was talk of the auto delica's with 70L fuel tanks. If that is what is under the autos then why couldn't I put one of those under my stick that only has a 45L tank?

Morning, there's a reason the 5 speed doesn't have the two tanks that the auto has, something is different underneath. Normally a manual tranny is shorter then a auto, so wouldn't one have more room where the auto has the larger of the two tanks; between the transfer case and rear axle.

Thnks for the info. I may be interested in the elf tank, mdrive. I'll call in the morning if you are open on Sat. I can modify almost anything if I put my mind to it. I like the challange, but nothing moves very fast around here. I wish that there was a owners manual for these L300's (in english), you know the kind that tells you how to operate the seatbelt and radio, but also has maintenance shedules and capacities. I ran mine for about 50 to 60 km with the fuel light on and then was only able to squeeze 41L into it. I even waited for the foam to die down to get the extra liter. I can't see how it's a 60L tank, Mick. Maybe I'll try again with a jerry can with me so I'm not too scared to run it out.
