Howdy all

Seems I burnt out a heaed light the other day so was looking to change it when I discovered that it had literally brunt out. Upon replacement the wiring got hot enough to cook by. Are there any electrical geniuses that have suggetions where to start. It seems to only have affected the right hand light and the high beams are not affected. DRL module is also connected same side and powers standard low beams.

Where do I start?

this is a common problem with the shoddy replacement headlights, those connectors are crimped to the wire, but they are the wrong type of metal so they often corrode a bit making a lousy connection, which generates heat, lots of it.

the solution is to solder all the wire connections on the back of the headlight module, make sure you look at anywhere any wire attaches to another or to an end, they tend to be either crimped or wrapped but not soldered as they should be.

Guess its off to CT for a soldering iron. Will give that a go and report back
