hi folks,
I have noticed that some Delicas have black accent around the door handles, is this an aftermarket addition? It looks really good on the white Delicas and seeing as how i drive a white one i was hoping i could add this.

These are plastic protector panels that were an option from new (aka genuine Mitsy accessory)
They are thin hard plastic moulded ABS sheets that fit around the contour of the lock barrel and handles to prevent scratches and scuffs on the paintwork. They have a 'fake leather' finish to them and they also had two extra pieces that covered the bottom corner of the front doors too.
Not always, but a lot of the time the mid-section on the 'B' pillar just above the fuel flap was also painted so that the 'black' effect was carried from the front handle right across to the sliding door handle.
These things are not too easy to find, but if I come across a set here in the UK I'll let you know?
The ones in the photo above are a set I sourced for a member of this club and brought over with me last year. He was very happy with them....
