It was tempting when I saw the poster but have other commitments. If you haven't been yet - be sure to take a day and/or overnight to St. Agnes Wells (aka Skookumchuck) - just south of Mt Currie - 45 minute drive on the Forestry Service Road along Lake Lillooet and you will find four large hot and cold spring water tubs and riverside camping. It will be busy over that festival weekend = but even a day trip if you want to chill in the tubs is worth the drive.

Whole family lives up in Whistler. We've been going there since we were little kids. Love the place. Going to stay away on that wknd thought. Will be a gong show !

Surprised no one else posted. I would have though the fest is very 'Delica people' friendly

I was tempted too, but seeing as I just got back from Sasquatch chances are slim I can get away for another weekend bender. It looks like it will be fun though, just not as cheap as Sasquatch, and too short of a road trip

i'll be there... what are you doing for camping?

Im pretty sure the hot spring up by mt currie(skookemchuk) are now permently closed due to sizmic activity ( the active volcano above it)

Camping with the zillion other people in tents. Will be quite the experience.

i'll be there, we're filling the matador and driving up from squamish - and doing the group camping thing. it will be a full on gong show and i am looking forward to it. last time i saw the hip was in ontario when they were touring with another roadside attraction, and by all accounts i had a good time. i don't think that you can bring vehicles into the group camping area though, we have about 15 people in total coming up. they're offering free parking if you have 4 or more people in your vehicle, yet another pratical reason for delica's.....

Me and the girlfriend and 2 other friends are going. For better or for worse we are skipping tent city and camping at birkenhead lake.

Not going, but was through there recently, and you won't believe how much they are doing to put it all together. Multiple stages, 35,000 square foot tents, a team of over 1000 staff and security personnel, expecting 100 vendors. They are constructing a water system, and trucking in water as well as 600 port a potties . I think I even read that they will have 24 hour onsite "grocery stores". It's going to be crazy... Not planning to go, but looking forward to hearing the stories. Wouldn't be surprised if they have a lot of camping etc in undesignated areas. That's where a good Deli comes in
40,000 people... can't imagine it. It's no woodstock, but as small as Pemberton is, it may as well be. Fun, Fun, Fun!

If anyone needs a ride up friday/back monday or anything I've got plenty of room in the van, extra tents at the birkenhead site, etc.

have you been to birkenhead before? i' e been there many times and i wouldnt want to drive to pemberton and back for the show every day. its at least a good hour. and sketchy in the dark. nice place til we got kicked out for having a party with a generator and big speakers and tvs...

is it an hour? I was hoping less, but I've never been up there. Oh well....
