Throttle cable lock/adjuster

Question.
Just wondering if anyone has a similar lack-of cable.
"(Manufactured after May'93), they no longer put a choke switch but it is
regulated by the engine computer."
I have never seen any Delica's or Pajero's without the throttle cable/adjuster (left side of the steering wheel column).

Sorry for the confusion. Being new to diesels, I called it a choke. I simply emailed someone to ask, among other things, why my Delica had no "choke" and the other one I saw that day (Jesse's) did. His response (using my bad terminology), as you can see, was that Delica's manufactured after May '93 don't have one, as the idle is regulated by the engine computer. He is referring to the throttle cable adjuster.

1994 Delica L300 don't have the hand throttle. I had no idea that post May '93 were the same as '94... I'm a little suspicious or a little confused!

Aha!
In June 1993 they released the '94 model year L300. I guess once a new year has started (i.e. Jan 1993) they can't call any following improved/updated models a '93 model year because of any 'non' updated ones sold before them, so they make it sound like you are getting next years model a bit earlier?? (I hope that makes some sense??)
There was very (VERY) little changed on the L300's between 1990 and 1993 except for some minor trim changes and things like seatbelts going to 3point.
In June 1993 when they launched the '94 model year L300 there were some significant mechanical changes.
Water cooled turbo
Totally revised glow plug circuit (uber quick)
Different cam belt (which makes me think there are other changes 'inside' the engine)
No hand throttle (I miss this!)
Different set-up on throttle/fuel pump (same basic pump)
I am sure there are more changes/differences too - I am gradually finding more out as I work on the car!
In answer to Jesse's comment - the new Mud Monkey doesn't have a hand throttle and I can confirm that any June 1993> L300's won't have either (except cars built before and registered after June 1993)

There you go Pinkfinger, you got yourself a watercooled turbo, uber quick glow plugs and other gadgets that we don't have. I'd be curious to see if there's a "driving" difference between yours and the rest of us pre-'93 (or '94 in that case!)
Enjoy!

I'd like to take a closer look underneath at the turbo to confirm yours is the water-cooled version. Shoot me a PM.
If it is, you've got yourself a nice one

Easy done - just look for the water pipe from the back of the head/top of the block at the rear which follows around the side of the block and across to the turbo.
Water cooled ones tend to have less oil lekas because the bearings wear much better.

Now if I only knew what the head and the block were, and where the turbo was, I could do that. Instead here are some pictures of the engine (including two lame ones from underneath - it was raining and I didn't want to get my clothes wet by kneeling, what can I say). The first two are from underneath, sort of...
I also took two of where the throttle cable adjuster is supposed to be - one with plug in and one with plug out, which I'll add next post.
You tell me if there is a water pipe somewhere. I have no idea.

Jesse - I'm leaving in a few minutes for two days, but I will be passing through Kits on Wednesday evening after dinner. I won't have much access to the forums while I'm away, but you can email me if that works for you.
