This looks like a good all-in-one-on-the-road-filtration unit.

Hi Jesse, what a great idea. Saves having to set up a big thing in the basement, and cheaper.

And just think of going camping, and empty the turkey fryer into the bin, to make wvo for the drive home. Very efficient.

Have you researched it? Are those blue bins the same as one sees in all the shops, are they sturdy?

I am interested. Anyone seen one? Christine.

Those totes are handy, I just packed three of them last night for fishing; that checker plate on the other hand.

One company, for WVO, sold the Fill Rite pump that looked identical to that one; and actually included a water spray bottle in there system to cool the pump during filtering. The pump can't handle the load of WVO filtering for long, and is considered a light duty pump. Well it's sold as a gear oil transfer pump, not for filtering, and notice they don't give specs on the pump.

All and all, it'd be tough to put together something for the asking price of $450; quality filters, hoses with fittings, and a pump capable of long term WVO filter work. Good pumps our pricey, my filtering pump retails for $450.

Cheers,
Kev

that is a 12v fill rite pump, picked mine up at princess auto for 160 bucks on sale. (comes with hose and fill handle)

the filters are donaldson and they are 20 bucks max

stainless pickup is a hydraulic pickup also found at princess for 40 bucks.

filter heads can be purchased at princess auto for 12 bucks each...

hoses/fittings are another 20 max.

so all in all you can put it together for under 300

tupperware not included!

I agree, it's over priced and can be easily assembled yourself. I'd consider using goldenrod filters as the replacement elements are only $7 at Princess Auto.
