Does your Mitsubishi Delica make a strange noise? Yes!

Does your Mitsubishi Delica make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs? are a couple of examples of what should be posted in the Technical & Troubleshooting section.
I think I have the criteria met...at least the funny noise part! My co-worker just came into my office and said that my van's horn was going off continuously! Great!!! I got out in the parking lot and my horn is solid on. The quick fix was to bang on the horn a couple of times and then the semi-permanent fix was to remove the fuse so it didn't happen again. I assume it is the horn switch or contact.
Anyway kind of funny and thought I would share.

In my super sick Michael Jackson voice: "....you are not alone".
Do a search.

Hey by any chance have you checked your dash and tail lights since you pulled the fuse?
In my Deli they are connected, when I first got it, there was a five amp fuse where there was supposed to be a 30? I think?
I laid on the on the horn, it blew the fuse which took out the dash and tail lights, which made a Washington State Trooper Very Excited..........

it's a common problem, the foam rubber between the 2 contacts for the horn wears down over time, the good news is it's an easy fix... I can't describe it as well as some, but it's been posted on the site numerous times, use the search feature.
basically, peel back the rubber covering the horn, find the horn switch (should be visible once the cover is off) and put something in between the contacts.

Another fix is to go with a Grant aftermarket wheel - will need Grant adaptor P/N 3390 for dodge colt import avail at Lordco. Very happy with the look and feel of the grant wheel (mine is a Monte Carlo model - $85 on craigslist and $27 for the adaptor).

Mine makes a funny rattling noise when it hits certain RPMs, kinda sounds bad but it's probably some kind of bash plate, heat shields or body panels clanking together.

Thanks for the input everyone! I knew this was a common problem but I just thought it was funny that I had a heat sensitive auto horn thing going on.
And yes I was pulled over the first night that I had pulled the fuse for not have any rear running lights. I had already figured that out and talked my way out of it....helps to have a screaming baby in the back! There are other things that don't work as others have suggested too (dash lights, my day time running lights and the you have left your lights on buzzer. I'll try the quick fix of the coffee stick for now, but will be getting a new steering wheel at some point.
Thanks again!
