Well I don't know for sure what this guy is doing but it sound to me like maybe the "system" is to run your vehicle on waste veggie oil, but of course its hard to get your car to start up on WVO so the "product" contains an antigel agent so the WVO wouldn't go solid and something like a hexane booster like methanol so the engine would start up on WVO. So Argo! Would that work? Just burning methanol along side the WVO without trans-esterifying it? Maybe the product also has an emulsifier to keep the methanol suspended in the oil. Don't I remember Green1 talking about this stuff except he sounded like he understood it all?

How the hell should I know ? I'm a diesel mechanic not a pastry chef.

WVO doesn't go solid at west coast temperatures, better not, works for me down to -12c in a under the vehicle, unheated tank.

Digging into my chemical background, how about a mix of acetone, kerosene and automatic transmission fluid mixed in the right amounts then added to WVO. Now I just need a octane engine, flash point analyzer, and a viscosity tester to be really in business. Maybe a inductively coupled plasma machine to fully confirm the burn characteristics and waste products of combustion.

Seriously, I have the barrels, filters, pumps, filtered WVO and everything else - just need to find someone willing to shell out the $60 bucks and provide a vehicle to be the guinea pig.

basically what I know about using WVO is that the vehicles don't like starting on it in cold weather (depending on the specific oil, "cold" could easilly be +10... maybe even higher) most people who run WVO in this climate therefore use a 2 tank system, regular (or bio) in one tank and the WVO in the other, that way they start the engine on diesel, then once it warms up they switch to WVO, when nearing the end of the trip they switch back to diesel again so that the fuel in the lines is diesel for the next start. for cold weather people put heaters in the WVO tank and along the WVO lines to keep things working smoothly.

in warmer climates people get away with running WVO the way we run diesel, no problem.
people in the UK regularly mix SVO with their diesel as well (over there buying a jug of vegetable oil at the supermarket is cheaper than filling up at the gas station) however most run a mix, especially in winter to reduce the negative effects of the vegtable oil at low temperatures.

I have also heard that the normal "anti-gel" agent added to regular diesel in the winter doesn't work so well on bio-diesel... so take that for what it's worth...

I have read some negetive opions about this product on various WVO sites. But these sites were also selling WVO kits. I can't remember witch sites I read this on. I will look again. It was a month or so ago.

Well, it just was too good to be true and just had to try it and see what it says.

Basically the manual tells you to buy a Walmart plastic garbage can a couple of pumps and a couple of household water filters, hoses and fittings. Install a Goldenrod filter in one for water removal and wa-lah your system is ready. Actually you also add Kerosene (10% ratio), unleaded gasoline (5% ratio), some Diesel-Kleen+Cetane boost and the magical/miracle potion (DSE) and then pump in your tank. Its pink in color and smells somewhat like paint thinner.

I have a friend who is a lab rat and will take it in for analysis. Out of curiosity, I'm going to mix a small batch up and see how it does in the fridge and then the freezer. I'm still scared to put it in my 2000 Dodge Cummins. It also has a chart stating that it is good to 30 degrees. Add 5% more kerosene for every 10 degrees colder. Blow is the mixing ratio, you guys are the gurus out here. What's your opinion?

20gal filtered WVO, 2gal Kerosene, 1gal unleaded gas, 15oz Power Service+Centane boost additive, 3.5oz of DSE mix slowly for 5 minuets and put it in the tank.

Good on ya for mixing up a batch. I'm too cheap or chicken to check out these potential scams. I saw the DSE ad and when I clicked for more info, I suspected it was just a moneymaker for someone.

With the formula you gave, it sounds like it would perform just fine without the mystery ingredients, from my non-techie point of view. That would be worth a comparison. You actually got lab rat connections--I'm impressed!
