Help wiring plantdrive toggle switch

Post by jskrepnek »

Hi,

Valve won't switch over to veggie. I think I've narrowed it down to the toggle switch - got a new one, hooked it up but the valve still isn't moving (Forgot-to-purge buzzer chimes nicely though). Am wondering if I haven't wired the toggle improperly. There aren't any instructions for this in the manual (I guess it comes with the Pollak valve?), I'm lost.

Thanks for any help,

Try trouble shooting with a continuity tester (volt meter) on different wiring points; the contacts of the toggle switch, the relay; including testing the switching side (85 to 86) and the powered side (87) to ensure juice is coming through, make sure all grounds are grounded, power on the solenoid switch when switched.

"make sure all grounds are grounded"

That did it! I thought it was grounded because the "forgot-to-purge" buzzer still sounded, but the valve wouldn't switch. But they must operate differently, because once I grounded the toggle properly the valve worked fine.

Thanks,
