Had a veggie conversion done on my van and since then I have been leaking veg/diesel from around the fuel injection pump. My mechanic has taken a look at it and informed me that he thinks the leak is coming from between the fuel injection pump and the plate to the engine? He thinks he is going to be able to handle the situation but was wondering if (a) timing adjustment is required when working on the pump and (b) if there would be any way for him to get his hands on some "literature" per se. I have the Russek pocket mechanic manual and that has a description in there, would this be suffice? I would also need to get my hands on some mew gaskets/o-rings I imagine. Anyone have any ideas where would be the best place to try and get them? The number on my pump (sticker) is MD155264 104740-3970.
I trust my mechanic here in Golden and think it is probably in my best interest to keep exposing him to the Delica.... he could become the local expert! I am hoping to avoid a trip to the coast to see Butch or Mardis. Anyone?

Be aware that the correct timing for these vans is 7 degrees(as per sticker in engine compartment) not 9 degrees as the manual states. You will probably need the special tool which is a dial gauge with the correct thread fitting for the rear of the pump OR a diesel timing light which is also quite a specific tool and not the same as a gasoline engine timing light.

New Seals: Action Fuel Injection Should cost around $15 or so.

Hi, its not easy to a mechnaic to do this if they are not used to it.
i believed your delica i think they tune it up for you.
to give it to the mechanic who dont know much about this delica will be not easy. the tuning will different. as it need expertise people on this one.
i know its far from you,but have nothing to say about this, as the tuning is the main problem.
