Recall and accident info?

Just wondering if there's any way to find out if recall work was performed on a JDM Delica while it was still in Japan? I know there were several Mitsu recalls on early 90's models, but would like to know if this was addressed before I buy.

Also, aside from personal inspection, is there any proof from Japan whether or not the car has been in a serious acident?

Hi bighorn,

I was just curious if you ever did find any information in regards to finding out whether a car had an accident in Japan. Does anyone have any info on this.

Thanks, Jason.

Hi, I cant give any info on recalls other than to say if there was a recall , what ever the problem could have come up, it would most likely be repaired, In japan EVERY vehicle has to be fully inspected every 2 years and if there was a recall it would have to be adressed befor passing an inspection,
For the Accident history:
the majority of you have way to actually find out as most owners have bought from dealerships and "guys" that buy from auctions , and with auction vehicles you get no history what so ever, on the auction sheet it will have if there is odvious signs of damage , things like that. but no history at all. Reason #1 I dont buy from auctions and I hand pick my vehicles to know the full history.

The best you can do is have an independant mechanic NOT associated with the dealer/ seller look for signs of hidden damage or repairs.
