broken AC, again .. help!

So last summer my AC worked great. Hit the button, it kicked in right away, bringing up the RPMs a little, providing awesome ice cold air.

This summer I tried it and nothing. Found a disconnected wire behind the battery. Fixed that, then it turned on, spun the fan, increased the revs, but no cold air. Tried it a couple times and never got cold air, but got + revs and other AC noises. Checked underneath and the fan and front AC rad (the large radiator right in front of the main engine radiator with it's own electric fan) was covered in mud and sticks, and the fan was stuck in place due to a twig wedged in it. Lesson of the day - get one of those fancy grills like Falco has if you drive in mud :)

I unstuck the fan, washed the rad. AC still didn't work. Doesn't look like the fan is spinning ever. Probably it's electric motor is burned out. If I turn the AC on now, nothing happens, no + revs, nothing.

I checked all my fuses including the 3 hidden behind the glove box. The left most one behind the glovebox was burned, replaced it. No difference, AC button does nothing.

I assume I need a new fan, recharged AC?, and maybe some electrical troubleshooting?

Any advice?

Take it to Butch? or Glen? or a regular AC shop?

Thanks much!! hoping to fix it this week before the sweltering heat of pemberton festival
