Hey folks,
Have been reading the UK and Aussie sites and a lot of advice is suggesting to replace the stock sump guard. Is the stock one really that bad? Has anyone done this replacement yet? Is there a local one available? I'm heading home to Aus. soon and am thinking to pick up some stuff whilst there, just not sure I can fit a snorkel and sump guard in my pack! Anything smallish I should pick up, that is problematic here in Canuckland? Take it easy.

The stock sheet metal pans under the deli are much too thin to be any good as skid plates.

They will protect the more vulnerable undercarriage components from brush and snow, but are probably just as much there to act as drip trays.

If you do any serious wheeling, probably best to take them off and use them as templates for making something more skookum.

If you do get a snorkel, please do us a favour and take some pics of it.

Cheers,

mike
