Why are you getting out of the project? Just curious - it looks fantastically cool but I am sure with that it can be fantastically painstaking. I saw some really great Fuso-based campers in New Zealand so the project makes total sense from a platform standpoint. Best of luck either way on it.

Not really getting out... more changing a bit. I had a budget in mind to complete the project, and lets just say I have lost a substantial amount of that budget to other life issues and might need to "downsize" plans so to speak.
Its an amazing camper base for sure, thats why I hunted it down...

I completely understand and can relate. I'm sure you'll find a good home for it = it looks like you've done some great work to the cab alone. Best of luck

OK, so.. Anyone who has looked at these knows how much they cost. I need out of this asap.. like the next 7 days... Just put an offer on a townhouse and have to make "terms" and get some finances straight .... again...
So, I wanted to get 18000 with the new custom military rims.... that covers my expenses for the truck thusfar...
i am willing to let it go for 16500 with the new rims, but without the currently mounted 16" bfg's.
the new rims are 18" so they are useless to buyer anyways!
anyone??
I have the paperwork for everything... not doing this to make $$$ so if you want it, please let me know.

Hey Jeff,
Sorry to see it for sale, if you had of got the rims in the original 16" I might have bought those from you. Why did you go to 18", it seems to go against the offroad mentality? 16" would allow you to air down the tires more and not dent a rim.

Hey! I'll try to swing by the next while so you can see how far it got. I went with the 18" rim more for future plan. From what I could dig up, it seem industrial/off-road tires are getting harder to come by in 16" rim size as more and more man. are going larger rims on stock trucks... It was a toss-up... but since the pricing was the same, and I wanted to go with new rubber I thought the 18 would be fine. Also guessed that the true reason as an off-road camper would mean more "bumpy" roads, and not alot of really harsh 4x4 off road style with the p[ressures was way down.... I was not going to a beadlock rim anyways, so should be ok with the 18's I hope.
If I can somehow pull off the mortgage and extras that have come up the last month, its project go again, so I'll keep you informed and bring by the rims when I get them!

For those who have asked.
All in - including everything I have done truck/shipping/duties/parts/repairs/modifications/additions/ect - I am into this truck for $16660.00 without the new custom military rims, 18106.00 with the rims. I am looking to get this for it, and will provide details and paperwork to those that come to view/drive. Also included are english translated work/service manuals for an FG model from Australia!
I am considering a partial trade for a nice Delica/Pajero/ Landcruiser VX plus cash...
Thanks
Jeff

I also have a 2003 Tundra 4x4 up for sale if that interests anyone.... whatever sells first, I'm keeping the other!
I have had many enqs' asking the same questions so... Questions this week:
- No there is no rust on the underside of the truck, or any of the usual Canter/Fuso trouble spots
- Yes, the rear deck/box can easily be removed.
- Yes there appears to be a solid anchor to mount a front Winch.
- Yes, I do have 5 new rims.. one for a spare.
- I do not know the actual gear ratio..
- Yes, manual locking hubs. 4WD hi / Low, or 2wd High
- The master cyl pinhole leak is not fixed, but parts are in the glovebox waiting for the time..
- I can take more images, but time wise might take a day or two to get them out. just let me know what you want to see.
- Yes, with some modifications, this truck can easily hold a full size camper.
- Yes, both sides, and the tailgate fold down
- No, there are no chips in the window
- Yes, the rear heater works
- Yes, all the belts have been changed
- Yes, all the oils have been changed
- No, It has not been in any accidents ( that I know of, my exporter knew of, or are visible at all!!)
- Yes, there are some small nicks and scrapes, and dings... the truck is 17 years old.
- I bought the truck in December of last year, after looking/searching for a low km, non-rusty truck of this model for over a year. It arrived into the country in March last year. - Most are farm trucks in Northern.Japan, and had 300,000+km, very rusty, and not worth bringing over.
- Yes, there are places in Australia that have turbo'd this engine... No idea on parts or pricing.
- Yes, parts are easy to find through FUSO Vancouver, Napa, and many other sources
- yes, this model did have an option for a hydro. dump bed.. but this one does not have it. It could easily be adapted to have one.
- and finally.. It beeps when you back up.. hahaha!
The new rims are here in Squamish, and just need rubber, valve stems/ ect.. I have decided that I can adjust the price by taking out a few things. I will remove the cd/dvd/gps touchscreen, and 24-12v converter and wiring to lower the price $600. Also if you do not want the roof rack, I will drop $200.00 off for that as well.
I am including in the price the english repair/main manuals, extra air filter, tools/ect.
I am around again this weekend for anyone who wants to come take it for a spin.
