RHD Saves a life

You may have seen on the news a report of a MVC on Hwy 93S between Radium and Banff. The vehicle involved was a RHD Subaru wagon. About 7 A.M. this morning it drifted across the center lane at a 60% angle and caught a semi just behind the driver's door. Passenger side completely destroyed. The driver, a woman in her 30's from Inveremere, was ejected via the windscreen and went missing, found in the water later 1km from the site, suffering from hypothermia and head injuries. She was flown by STARS to Calgary (not Banff as reported in the news). The dog did not survive.

The consensus among those in attendance has been she survived because it was RHD, and we're hoping she pulls through this. I remember the posts from those of you Deli owners who have dogs, when you're travelling with your dog in your vehicle, please be sure you are not distracted by their activity.

:-( How sad. Great the woman is still alive though - Hope she recovers OK. I'm sure she will be heartbroken to hear her dog was killed. I strongly recommend dogs have a harness and be attached to a seat-belt. It is obviously safer for them, but also prevents them from flying forward and possibly into the human occupants. Ours travels belted in on the bench seat - Luxury for him and just safer all 'round :M
