Finally, a caving trip in the bus!

Well, it's been a loooong summer with no time caving for me so it was nice to get out for a little day trip to some nearby caves. Two of my fellow independent gardeners piled in the bus and we headed out to the Memekay Valley near Sayward. I am the custodian for Candlestick Cave - a spectacular and extremly fragile gated cave that one is only allowed to visit once in a lifetime, and that visit must be guided by the custodian and holder of the key. Since my two companions had never been there and since I am the custodian, we were good to go. One guy took over a 100 pictures underground! We followed that cave up with the nearby Emilia Creek Cave. This one carries an active stream and is very sporty with climbs and stretchy bridges over deep pools. After that we had a walk in the beautiful Memekay River canyon. We all had a blast. The delica worked AWESOME on the gravel roads. And while 4x4 was not required, it was still fun to get her back on the logging roads on an adventure. [edited for spelling error]
