Whoa, dig the GO! It even goes with my van colours... way cool. So how much and where are they (outside of NC) ~ I would like to walk around it & maybe touch it. Do you thing it would be practical for transporting tools when not camping?

Falco.

Looks like a trip down to Vancouver, Washington is in order Falco:

Are they bear proof? I'm doubting it... will have to put the mother-in-law out in the trailer tent while we sleep safely in the Deli... eventually... :-D

Awesome trailer! Looks like it costs about $8k. Considering the new shiny airstream basecamp model: http://www.airstream.com/products/2008- ... llery.html runs about $23k; this Go trailer seems like a perfect alternative. Great stuff. One could go broke buying toys eh? :-)

a house isn't bear proof... the Delica certainly isn't... I wouldn't think any trailer likely is.

Ah, I guess the terminology would have been better had I stated "resistant".

Kind of like a digital watch, the trailer has more of a 1m water resistance, while the Delica has 100m water resistance... which would you choose to go swimming with?

Sorry, I also have to deal with a gf who is a bit worried about the whole camping with bears thing, so a Deli is more likely to get her out in the forest!

:M

I've seen the aftermath of a standard camper tailer where a bear went in through the roof and out through the wall... that wasn't even a tent trailer.

I also saw a video of a bear opening a volkswagon to get at the bucket of KFC inside... he opened the roof much like we would open a can of sardines...

Bears are not dangerous to you if you use some common sense, however if you leave something too tempting available, they'll go through almost anything to get it.

Hey, my wife reads this forum - let's keep this kinda talk to a minimum. All three of us (already) sleep in the van due to her bear paranoia. Of course a black bear could never get in that open 3'x3' screened hole in the roof, they don't climb do they? It is all about piece of mind isn't it?

The bear concerns is what kept us (her) from buying a http://www.kamparoo.com/transspecs.htm last year. They had a near new demo model, with extra's, for $5000. It was even sporting 30" or 31" tires to boot. If you haven't seen a clam shell trailer, you wouldn't belive the quick set up times; easy enough to pop up for a quick road side lunch.

Ohh, don't say that. We are camping on Salt Spring for a week with the van. There are no bears on Salt Spring, are there?

Nice looking trailer, for sure! Hope someone gets one and brings it to a meet sometime. And Adam, fear not about bears on Saltspring. Just stick to the big Island or the Gulf Islands where the bears are more like big racoons than ferocious monsters. I've said it elsewhere here - There has never been a bear attack on Vancouver Island... It's true. That's not to say there never will be, but they really are a little easier going over here, go figure :M :-D

Too Funny, I had never thought about that! I'm running bio right now and last thing I need is a french fry loving bear chewing on my tail pipe.................mind you it might be a good excuse to upgrade to a new 2.5" system. :-)

Back to that trailer. That is pretty cool, but this the trailer I've currently got, but below is a very creative unit built in the 60's. I think it's just what I need for behind my Delica. I'm not sure how many years they were made for, but they are a very impressive/cool little unit, not unlike a Delica.

Don't worry guys, with the "Trunk Monkey" you and your property are safe and secure from even the most aggressive of forest animals. Highly trained, loyal and motivated by an endless supply of nearly ripe bananas (supplied by owner), the Trunk Monkey is...

What does the "Trunk Sasquatch" run on? I mean if he is cheap to run ~ does he come with any accessories? Where do I keep him when I am sleeping in the van? Do I need to bring a second sleeping bag?
